Anne conceived this newly built boathouse in Muskoka as an exercise in form and functionality, overseeing both the architecture and interior design. Her vision: A building that would feel both proportional and lofty. “When you’re limited by square footage and height allowance, you must take advantage of every inch. We checked off every item on our client’s wish list,” says Anne. Anne played with black and white throughout for a graphic and understated effect; the outlines of the kitchen millwork mimic the black windows and doors. “Outlines act as a picture frame to provide depth and contrast.”
