Lake Blues
Taking her cues from the lapping waves and expansive sky, Anne designed this airy boathouse to bring the outdoors in. The whitewashed shiplap-clad walls draw the eye up to lofty 20-foot ceilings. “Floating the furniture in the middle of the room gives the center space weight, which was necessary because the ceiling is so high,” explains Anne. The idea was create a beach house-like feeling: easy, breezy living at its best, right at the water’s edge. “It’s an oasis for downtime to entertain friends or sit quietly with a good read.”
