Merry and Bright | Time To Deck The Halls
We all know that the holidays are going to sneak up on us, yet despite best efforts, here it is again with all the festive chaos that it brings. Decorating the home is one of my favourite parts of the season. The trimming of the tree is a clear signal that Christmas is really coming. I love bringing out the old favourites and I always like to try new twists that I’ve admired in my travels. Whether that’s a new idea for a holiday cocktail (sidenote: cider simmering on the stovetop just smells the best) or a centrepiece I remember my mother creating in my childhood, or rough sprigs of greenery literally everywhere for that wonderful scent of pine, the holidays are such a fun time to experiment with everything from decor to playlists to recipes and events and creating new family traditions. Often times, the simplest ideas are the most charming. Like adding a post feast Christmas Eve walk to admire the lights. I am so looking forward to building these Norwegian snowball outdoor lanterns with my kids. However you celebrate, we wish you and yours safe travels, a peaceful and happy holiday with family and friends, enjoying old traditions and creating special new memories together.
