Parisian Decor | A Tribute To The City Of Light
Paris has been on all of our minds and in our hearts this past week. I have had the great pleasure of living and studying in Paris at different times in my teens and twenties and am so saddened to watch the events of the last week unfold. I grew so much from my time abroad. I can recognize a French woman from a mile away. The classic but quirky elegance. An air of confidence and an unapologetic sense of polite disinterest in what anyone else thinks. A study in contrasts. French decor has always reminded me of the French woman. Particular yet laissez-faire. Soignée but also with the sense that they’ve simply thrown something together. Perfectly intentionally unintentional. The following images are a love letter of Parisian interiors to pay tribute to a city and a people from whom I have learned so much about design and living beautifully. Herringbone floors, strong but delicate iron work against a feminine palette, chinoiserie influences and antiques. Stunning art. Dashes of gilt and tarnish. In perfect harmony.
Pray for Paris. Pray for Peace.
