The House(s) of Givenchy
Le Style Givenchy by Francoise Mohrt is one of my favourite possessions. A collection of incredible photos of the homes of designer Hubert de Givenchy, it is a glimpse into the private life of a style icon. Extremely difficult to obtain, it is a treasure in itself. Legendary fashion designer and dear friend of Audrey Hepburn, Bunny Mellon and Walter Lees, to name but a few, Givenchy has dedicated his life to fashion and his homes are an homage to his impeccable taste. Le Clos Fiorentina in St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Chateau du Jonchet in Romilly-sur-Aigre and his Parisian home at Rue de Grenelles – all captured here. He is famous for saying “Dressing a woman is to make her more beautiful—isn’t that the point of it all?”. One might agree that he felt the same way about his homes.
