Paint It Black: Halloween-Inspired Design
It’s this time of year that black really comes to the forefront of everyone’s design awareness with all the ghosts and goblins preparing for their big reveal but black is always a guaranteed trick to add drama to a space. Whether it’s an entire room or even simply a ceiling or a feature wall or front door, there are endless ways to incorporate black.Whereas white tends to make a space feel larger, black cloaks a room and makes it feel more enveloping. Like white, it has the ability to make everything else in the room pop – art in particular or a fabulous piece of furniture. We recently visited a restaurant that had taken an entire wall and painted it with chalk board paint and will change up the featured scene in white chalk to suit their whim – our last visit saw a fireplace complete with roaring flames. Nothing child’s play (or spooky) about it. Enjoy these these dark places!
