Going For Gold: Home decor inspired by the London 2012 Olympic Games

They’re finally here. The London Games. The world collectively held captive watching the best and brightest in sport competing against one another for the glory of their countries. We are all eagerly anticipating who will come away with the coveted gold medals. Metallic accents always add fabulous depth and glamour to any space but gold lends a particular sheen and luxury that is unparalleled. I don’t subscribe at all to the theory that you have to match your metals, and I almost always add a dash of gold somewhere in my projects. Check out some of these medal-worthy pieces (when you’re not cheering on our competitors!).

PS. If you’re looking for a great beach read and if you’re able to tear yourself away from the TV (and because you’re so over 50 Shades of anything), “Little Bee” author Chris Cleave’s “Gold” is a fantastic “gilty” pleasure and totally on-theme for an Olympic read. Enjoy!
